La LIGIER JS CUP France intègre le LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME en 2024, ou une course dans la course pour les Juniors avec une dotation à gagner pour évoluer en Ligier JS P4 en LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES, dotation d’une valeur équivalente à 100.000 € H.T.

Pour progresser en sport automobile il faut pratiquer beaucoup et longtemps ! C’est pourquoi l’endurance constitue un vecteur essentiel à la formation de tous les jeunes pilotes. Et pour mesurer les évolutions de chacun il est important que tous disposent de la même voiture.
Le LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME a pour but de constituer un tremplin, et surtout une plateforme d’entraînement avec de nombreux essais et de mise en situation en course. Et comme le budget constitue souvent un frein à la formation et à la détection, l’objectif est aussi de garantir des coûts rationalisés et optimisés.
C’est pourquoi Ligier et M3 s’associent pour intégrer la Ligier JS Cup France au LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME.
Comment ça marche ?
Un pilote Junior intègre un équipage de la LIGIER JS CUP France sur une LIGIER JS2 R, quels que soient les autres équipiers, leurs compétences, ou qu’ils soient un ou deux.
Deux Juniors ne peuvent pas rouler sur la même voiture ; si c’est le cas, un seul peut jouer la gagne de la dotation en JS P4.
Les courses sont de 4h ou 6h et pouvant aller de deux à trois pilotes par voiture.
Les pilotes Juniors seront les seuls à qualifier la voiture.
Les pilotes Juniors prendront obligatoirement le départ des courses.
A l’issue de 40 minutes et un tour, un classement sera établi entre les Juniors uniquement et constituera le résultat de la course du Ligier Junior Programme.
La course ne s’arrête pas pour autant et donc l’expérience continue de s’emmagasiner pour eux à travers les différents relais.
Leur résultat ne dépend donc absolument pas du résultat des coéquipiers et de l’issue de la course : peu importe avec qui ils roulent ils ne sont ni avantagés ni pénalisés.

Start – Improve – Rise
In motorsports, making progress means training a lot, and for a while! Therefore, endurance racing becomes essential to shape a Junior driver. And to measure their progress, they must drive the same car.
LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME’s main goal is to be a catalyst and, above all, a training platform, with many practice sessions and hands-on racing experiences. And also, as money is often a stop to training and being spotted, another objective is to guarantee optimized costs.
As a result, Ligier and M3 joined their forces to include the Ligier JS Cup France Championship to the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME in a nutshell …
A Junior driver joins a LIGIER JS CUP France team on a LIGIER JS2 R, regardless of teammates and their categories, or if they are one or two.
Two Junior drivers cannot drive in the same car. If so, only one of them can pretend to win the grant price in the JS P4 Championship.
The races will be 4 or 6 hours long, with two to three drivers per car.
The Junior Drivers must be the ones to qualify the car.
The Junior Drivers must be the ones to start the races.
After 40 minutes and one lap, a ranking will be drawn up for the Junior Drivers only and will determine the results of the Ligier Junior Program race.
The race is still going on with the opportunity to gain more experience through the relays.
Therefore, the results of the Junior Drivers race do not rely upon their teammates’ results or the end of the race: whoever they race with, they do not get any advantage or penalty.
A 5 races Championship
Contacts are severely punished through a strict penalty system, which may go as far as exclusion from the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAM in the Ligier JS Cup France Series.
The mentor of the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME in LIGIER JS CUP France Series is Benoit TRELUYER. He is one of the most successful endurance drivers of the past years, with 5 podiums at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including 3 victories and 2 WEC World champion titles. His vast experience and his mentorship will be more than valuable for the Junior Drivers.
The winner of the season will be granted a Ligier JS P4 for free for the next season, to race in the LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES, JS P4 category, equivalent to 100,000€ (excl. VAT). Following on, the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME offers the winners of the LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES in LIGIER JS P4 a grant allocation of 150,000 € (excl. VAT) to enter the next season on a Ligier JS P320 in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME provides talent detection and mentorship that can lead to the top of endurance racing.
A controlled budget
The budget, based on an average estimation between the teams represents around 120,000 € to 140,000 € (excl. VAT) for 5 races, practice sessions, and tires included (a slight augmentation may occur, due to wet weather tires needs), excluding insurance and damages, and for the entire car, so to be shared between two or three drivers.
So, to date, the estimated budget is from 40,000 € to 70,000 € (excl. VAT) per Junior driver, depending if he/she joins a team of two or three drivers for the 5 races.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAM is open to drivers from 16 to 26 years old.
